Family Fall Festival

I'm so not into pumping the kids full of sugar if I can help it (yes, I'm a Halloween snob, Kaci ;) ), especially when we're already fighting colds, so we bribed our kids to be happy staying home on Halloween by putting on our own little festival- using loose change as the prizes instead of candy. We started out with a fun dinner of soup in bread bowls and then we all got dressed up and had a great time! We were also the "Scrooges" of the street by giving away apples to the few trick-or-treaters who came by. Silly holiday, in my opinion, but it was a fun excuse to have to family fun!

 Bobbing for Apples!

Little Kitty- we did a little face painting, too

Gone Fishin'

Christian has a friend who manages a trout pond for some well-to-do fellow, so he got the opportunity to take our 3 oldest crazies fishing! They couldn't keep anything, but it's the experience that counts, right? As it was, Elijah was the only one to catch anything bigger than a minnow- he was very focused and patient and it paid off! The twins and I enjoyed nap time and playing with blocks while everyone was away. :)

A few new pictures

Peter's a scarecrow, Kale'a says "Rawr" and "My nose tickles." Elijah's a "soccer player."

Rosies

Sorry I've been out of touch. I've been recovering from a major abdominal surgery- wow, it's been quite the ordeal. Anyway, nothing like spending a week away from the kids to help revive the memory of how special they are and how very privileged I am to be their mom. Here's a cute video clip of the twins playing Ring Around the Rosies- I know, morbid song, but they don't care and they're so very cute. :)
