(Not) Zion

Due to the extreme crazy heat, we decided to not go to Zion after the GC, but came back to Flagstaff where it at least cools off at night. But that did not stop our fun!

Red Mountain
The hikers!

Ok, Mike looks kinda creepy with the binoculars.

The amazing Uncle Tim is great with the "harder" kids!

Don't mess with this tough chic!

New location for future Star Wars movies...?

Picnic on the Peaks
With this many people, forget about picnic baskets. Bring the trailer. :)

Fun at the Vaughans'!

This is a tricky one to figure out- it appears that Elijah is splashing himself in the face while Peter splashes him from the side...

Ransom smiling while getting doused with a cup of water- undeniable proof that miracles do happen. :)

A little frisbee golf thrown in...

Even the Bonster made an appearance!

 Holding little ones...

Water balloon launching- oh, I got Christian good. Possibly a defining moment in history.

 Sweet kiddos

Grand Canyon

Anne is dying from the heat.

Off the camera, you would have heard me trying (rather unsuccessfully) not to freak out about the girls sitting so close to the edge. Their daddy isn't afraid of heights like me. Apparently they're not very afraid of heights either.

The rest of the pix are of the hike to 3-mile house. Christian was too busy setting up and moving trailers, etc., and I was too busy taking twins to scary pit toilets to be able to take any other pictures.
Dan and Peter with a yucca

 Dan on a rock

Dan on rock- can you see him? Apparently the fear of heights (or lack thereof) is genetic.

 Cooling off after hiking out

And an elk in the campground

Oak Creek

On Monday the family met up in Oak Creek Canyon to cool off and enjoy each other's company! I think it had been 5 years and several babies since we've all been together!

The Vaughan/Young clan
(except Laura & Caleb, as Kale'a was sick :( )

All 14 Young cousins ranging from almost 13 years old to 2 months!
