Turkey Toms and Freedom

 We apparently have at least two turkey toms. From what I hear, the females don't fluff up and strut around like the males.

 Besides being kinda creepy, these birds are so different from chickens! They are not afraid of people in the least!

 They are also REALLY slow learners, but they did eventually figure out how to drink from our bucket waterer.

On a different note, the last kid finished school last week, so we're officially on summer break!

Here are the much-toiled-over progress charts, all filled out! (any of the ones that are blank are just because they didn't have as many tests as we had blanks...)

The kids all picked out their own fonts and clipart, so it's fun to see a bit of their personalities coming through.

June's going to be a pretty crazy month with swim lessons, camping, more gardening, VBS, library reading program, and hopefully catching up with good friends! Hopefully I'll remember to pull out the camera for at least some of it!

The kids' 4-H leader is letting us try hatching some bantam eggs since we have a super broody hen. We'll see in about 3 weeks what we get (i.e. we won't be counting our eggs before they hatch)!

They were so happy to have their summer clothes down, I think they changed at least ten times! Almost as fun as Christmas!
