Black and whites

Just because sometimes I like black/white pictures...and just a warning, there are a lot of critters in this post!

Puppies! One of these adorable babies is going to be joining our family in mid-April! They are Pyrenees/Maremma livestock guardian dogs. BIG and fluffy and good with other animals.

Just some random ones

Spring in Flagstaff= swimsuit + snow jacket

Moses loves a good belly scratch!

New baby chicks!

P and "Queen Gertrude Vicini II", a Sicilian Buttercup

E and "Jerry" a black Jersey Giant

A and "Livi" an Americauna

B and "Silver", a Silver Lakenvelder

T and "Goldie", a Buff Cochin

They are so cute when they're sleeping!

And Bombur. He loves watching E do his school, perching on his divider.

Bits and Pieces

Yep, never know where we'll find these two sleeping! At least they stay in their room! Generally...

Peter has taken to making home made corn tortillas on his own. They are so yummy!

The birds don't seem to mind the snow as long as they can find patches of dirt to take their dust baths in!

Every now and then one of them misfires- this is what a yolk-less egg comes out as- itty bitty!

Because I know you're curious what our "nefarious pink slime of doom" looks like... Ick. This particular chunk is about 1/2" wide.

True Youngs take pictures with tea cozies.

 Peter just keeps growing!

...and looking for ways to make us jump!

Big kids like play dough, too!

 Gardening!
 Lettuce sprouts

 Carrot sprouts

 Strawberries are up and running!

In the twins' world, there are three continents: Africa, China, and Arizona. Oh- and Angel Falls at the very bottom. :)

Tirzah finally lost her first tooth! It was amazingly uneventful for a girl with an exceedingly low pain tolerance!

We broke down and bought a keyboard for my deprived, begging children (ok, mostly for me, though). I'm super impressed with the book I got for them to learn from:
They went from only knowing how to play Mary Had a Little Lamb to playing Ode to Joy with two hands in just a week! He starts off teaching them how to play the piano and then teaching them how to read music. Usually it's the other way around and (my kids at least) get bogged down with theory and lose the joy of playing. Anyway. We've been having lots of fun with it! :)

The ever-expanding kids' clubhouse, which now includes a "Shire room" with a circular cut-out in the door.

Berea REALLY wanted me to take a picture of her mermaid picture.

We went hiking/walking around Sunset Crater- lava flow in the foreground, SF Peaks in the background. Fun times!

January so Far...

My mom made all the girls ponchos for Christmas. They are so cute!

We never know how we're going to find the twins sleeping! Very rarely are they each in their own beds!

 Henry and the girls
When they were newborns and bald- on the same couch! :) Good buds.

The girls were so smitten with Nora, "The Cutest Baby in the World."

Elijah and his best bud, Gilbert, were so happy to have a few days to play together while their dads were hiking in the Canyon!

Just a pretty sunrise when a storm was rolling in.

We planted some carrots and lettuce in the greenhouse- hopefully they'll take! Can't wait to get back to home-grown salads!

 Moses thinks he's very helpful.

Beautiful view from our park!

Berea lost her first tooth!

Hiking Old Cave's Crater

This is our neighborhood! Our house is on the far left in the middle. All the hills are volcanic, in case you wanted to know. Christian would want you to know anyway. :)

The red thing is a bug! Possibly a tick.
